Multi-vehicle crash on Iraqi highway kills 13 Soldiers are amongst the dead

Thirteen people were killed and five others injured in a multi-vehicle collision on an international highway in Iraq’s Anbar province on February 25, local authorities said.

According to Colonel Salah al-Dulaimi of the Anbar traffic police, the accident occurred near the city of Fallujah, approximately 50 km west of Baghdad, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.

Preliminary reports indicate that speeding was a contributing factor.

The Iraqi Ministry of Defence confirmed that among the dead were eight military personnel and five civilians.

Medical staff at Fallujah Hospital said the injured have been hospitalised and are receiving necessary treatment.
