Multicultural pride on display as Azerbaijan marks Victory Day photo

On November 8, the heads of Azerbaijan’s religious communities were invited as honoured guests to the military parade in Baku, marking the fifth anniversary of the Great Victory in the Patriotic War of Autumn 2020.

According to Caliber.Az, the invited dignitaries included Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, Melikh Yevdayev, head of the Mountain Jews community in Azerbaijan, Bishop Alexiy (Smirnov) of Baku and Azerbaijan, Bishop Vladimir Fekete, the Apostolic Prefect of the Catholic Church in Azerbaijan, among others.

Their presence at the parade highlighted Azerbaijan’s commitment to multiculturalism and the inclusive recognition of its diverse religious communities.
