Multinational Trojan Footprint 24 military exercise kicks off in Georgia
The Trojan Footprint 24 multinational military exercise with the support of the US Special Operations Command Europe has started in Georgia, TASS reports citing the press service of the Georgian Defence Ministry.
"Georgia is hosting the multinational exercise Trojan Footprint 24. Units of the special operations command of the defence forces are taking part in the exercise. The official ceremony to launch the exercise was held at the Georgia-NATO Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC)," the statement said.
In addition to the Georgian and US military, the manoeuvres will involve military from the UK, Spain, Poland and Romania. Reservists from the Georgian Defence Ministry's territorial defence and representatives of volunteer organizations will also join the wargame, the press service added.
During the exercise, the military will train in various tasks on land and at sea in both Eastern and Western Georgia. The purpose of Trojan Footprint 24 is to strengthen interoperability among the militaries of the participating countries, to exchange experience, as well as to raise the level of combat readiness.
