Armenia’s prosecutor demands cancellation of land sale to former PM’s family
On July 30, Armenia’s Prosecutor General’s Office filed an appeal with the Anti-Corruption Court to annul the sale of land in the village of Mkhchyan, located in Ararat Province, to relatives of former Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan.
According to Caliber.Az, citing Armenia’s official judicial and legal information portal, three lawsuits have been lodged against the Artashat community, which encompasses Mkhchyan village.
Two of these lawsuits concern the sale of land plots to Argam Abrahamyan, the son of the former prime minister, while the third involves his wife, Juliette Abrahamyan.
The Prosecutor General’s Office is specifically challenging the validity of the tender and sale documents signed between the former village head and members of the Abrahamyan family during 2003-2004.
Armenian media sources report that the disputed land parcels measure 8.9 hectares, 7.2 hectares, and 4,000 square meters.
