Iran denies interfering in Gaza ceasefire talks, accuses US of deflecting responsibility
Iran has firmly denied any attempts to influence the ongoing negotiations aimed at establishing a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry’s official spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, responded to recent claims by U.S. President Donald Trump, describing them as unfounded and politically motivated, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.
Baghaei accused the United States of trying to evade responsibility for its role in supporting Israeli actions against Palestinians. He cited the deaths of some 60,000 innocent people—including women and children—alleged intensified blockades of Gaza in recent months, and the suspension of humanitarian aid as evidence of American complicity.
Baghaei further condemned what he described as the “deadly traps” set at aid distribution points in Gaza, which he said were established by an American company and contributed to the suffering and deaths of starving and thirsty civilians.
“These accusations against the Islamic Republic are baseless attempts to divert attention from the United States’ involvement in crimes committed by the Zionist regime against the Palestinian people,” Baghaei said.
