Armenian Parliament's speaker sues blogger for defamation

Armenia’s National Assembly Speaker, Alen Simonyan, has filed a lawsuit against blogger Samvel Ashotyan for defamation.

The speaker is seeking 1 million Armenian drams in compensation for defamation, as well as 410,000 drams ($1,000) to cover legal fees and state court charges, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

The court has accepted the case for consideration.
