Russia claims Ukraine struck its territory with smart bombs
The Russian Ministry of Defence reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out an attack on Russian territory using smart bombs. In its daily briefing, the ministry said that Russia’s air defence forces successfully intercepted two guided aerial munitions.
Smart bombs, unlike conventional free-fall explosives, are designed with advanced guidance systems that allow for high precision and an extended operational range. According to the ministry, this precision makes them particularly effective for targeting strategic positions.
The Russian military also fields similar technology. Its Universal Planning and Correction Module has been employed extensively throughout the conflict to penetrate Ukrainian defensive lines and neutralize key positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
