Iran lifts all restrictions on international internet access
Iran has lifted all restrictions on access to the international internet, a diplomatic source said. The move marks a significant shift in the country’s digital policy, aiming to reopen the internet market and expand public access to global online resources.
“Currently, not only have all restrictions on the national internet platform across all sectors been lifted, but, gradually, starting from January 19, international internet restrictions are also being removed,” the source said, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The source added that in a letter to the relevant authorities, President Masoud Pezeshkian instructed the complete removal of internet restrictions to revitalize the domestic internet market and ensure widespread public access to the international network. The process, the source noted, is currently underway.
