Multiple unknown drones trigger air alert in Estonia
31 March 2026 11:24
Estonian military forces issued an air alert across several regions on the night of March 31 after detecting multiple unidentified drones approaching the country’s airspace.
The alert initially covered Eastern and Western Viru before spreading to southern and central areas, Caliber.Az reports per Estonian media.
Military officials reported that the drones entered Estonian territory but were not shot down. The warning was lifted at 6 a.m.
The incident disrupted air travel: a Finnair flight from Helsinki to Tartu had to alter its route, and the 5:40 a.m. return flight from Tartu to Helsinki was cancelled. Authorities urged residents to remain calm and monitor official updates regularly.
