Musk: AI-generated The Odyssey film to be released by year-end

The recently-crowned trillionaire tech mogul, Elon Musk, has said that an AI-generated full-length film adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey will be released before the end of 2026.

“Before this year ends, Grok Imagine will make a full-length movie of The Odyssey that is historically accurate and true to the art of Homer,” Musk wrote on X, Caliber.Az reports.

He said the film would remain as faithful as possible to the historical context and artistic vision of the ancient Greek poet.

Musk previously criticised the trailer for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming The Odyssey on July 6, accusing the director of incorporating elements he associated with “woke” social justice ideals in an effort to win an Oscar. Musk said such an interpretation would “desecrate” Homer’s work.

In March, he wrote that “Chris Nolan is an anti-White racist,” claiming that he only cast Lupita Nyong’o as Helen of Troy because “He wants the awards.” 

Despite all the criticism, the film earned a massive $264 million in its worldwide opening weekend and looks set to continue its own box office odyssey into the coming weeks.
