Mystery balloons with cargo found in southern Poland PHOTO
Authorities in the Małopolska region of Poland are investigating the discovery of three unidentified air balloons carrying an unknown package near residential property.
According to RMF, a local resident noticed several connected white balloons caught in bushes near a fence between properties, close to residential homes. The individual alerted police after spotting the unusual object.
Attached to the balloons was a package made up of six separate bundles wrapped in black plastic film.
Police and fire service units arrived at the scene, secured the area, and conducted a pyrotechnic inspection. Authorities confirmed that no hazardous or dangerous substances were found during initial checks.
The object was subsequently removed and seized for further forensic analysis.
Preliminary assessments suggest the balloons may have been part of a smuggling operation, potentially used to transport cigarettes across borders.
