NASA astronauts begin spacewalk outside International Space Station

NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Anil Menon have begun a spacewalk outside the International Space Station (ISS), with NASA streaming the operation live.

The astronauts began the extravehicular activity at 08:33 Eastern Time, when their spacesuits were switched to autonomous power, Caliber.Az reports via TASS.

During the nearly seven-hour operation, the astronauts are expected to modify one of the station's orbital segments to prepare it for the installation of iROSA solar panels.

The new solar array, which is expected to increase the station's power generation capacity, is scheduled to be installed later this year.
