NATO chief visits attacked power facility in Kyiv photo
Ukraine’s Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte visited one of the thermal power plants in Kyiv that had been hit in an attack.
Shmyhal shared the visit in a post on Facebook.
“The enemy carried out a missile strike on an energy facility that provides heat to the city’s residents. This is a civilian facility,” the Ukrainian minister wrote.
Shmyhal stressed that the shelling was deliberate.
“It happened precisely when temperatures dropped to -25°C. This crime must be given a proper assessment,” he said.
During his conversation with Rutte, Shmyhal emphasised the importance of strengthening the protection of Ukraine’s heating and power supply facilities with air defence systems and missiles for them.
“It is important to ensure timely deliveries of weapons, as Russia is increasing its production,” the minister noted.
