15 January 2026 18:55
NATO defence ministers will convene at the Alliance headquarters in Brussels on February 12, 2026, under the leadership of Secretary General Mark Rutte.
According to the NATO press service, the meeting comes amid heightened geopolitical tensions and internal challenges for the Alliance, Caliber.Az reports.
Key topics include discussions over Greenland following US President Donald Trump’s remarks on the need for ownership of the island, the situation in the Middle East, and possible responses to the repression of peaceful protesters in Iran.
Ministers will also review ongoing peace negotiations to resolve the Russia–Ukraine war and explore the potential for individual NATO members to provide security guarantees to Ukraine.
