NATO deploys over half a million troops on high alert Amidst eastern flank tensions

More than half a million NATO troops are currently on high alert along the alliance's eastern flank, Rob Bauer, Chair of the NATO Military Committee said.

"We now have over 500,000 servicemen in a heightened state of readiness," Bauer stated, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.

He attributed this readiness to the implementation of the "most comprehensive defence plans since the Cold War," which have strengthened the alliance's forward defence on its eastern borders. This capability enables NATO to rapidly reinforce any ally facing a critical threat.
