A meeting of the North Atlantic Council (NAC) at the level of foreign ministers is scheduled to take place in Helsingborg on May 21–22, 2026.
The meeting will be chaired by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and held at the Clarion Hotel Sea U. An International Media Centre will operate at the venue for accredited journalists during the event, the aliance said in a statement.
According to available information, the full agenda and schedule have not yet been released and are expected to be announced later in Brussels.
This will mark the first time Sweden has hosted NATO foreign ministers since joining the Alliance in March 2024. During the meeting, participants are expected to discuss progress in key priority areas identified by NATO.
Officials say the discussions could help lay the groundwork for the upcoming NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government, which is set to take place in Ankara in July 2026.
Among the issues under consideration is the situation surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil route. NATO is currently in discussions with the United States on ways to address challenges related to the strait.
