NATO seeks to ease war impact on Bosnia, Georgia, Moldova
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has said that NATO allies plan to increase support for "NATO partners" - Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia and Moldova, which, according to him, are "under pressure from Russia".
Stoltenberg made such a statement at a meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the North Atlantic Council in Bucharest with the participation of Finland, Sweden, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia and Moldova, the official website of the alliance reports.
"Welcome to this final session of the NATO Foreign Ministerial meeting and a special welcome to our partners Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia and the Republic of Moldova.
"It is great to have you all here.
"Our meeting shows the strong and growing cooperation between NATO and your respective countries at this challenging time.
"NATO and NATO Allies have provided support to all three partners for many years, including with capacity building, reforms and training to strengthen their defence and security institutions.
"Today these partners are affected by Russian pressure, and NATO allies are committed to increasing their support to them.
"This meeting is an opportunity to discuss some of our shared security concerns, most notably in the strategically important region of the Black Sea and the Western Balkans," he said.
