NATO slams Iran after ballistic missile intercepted over Türkiye
On March 4, 2026, NATO spokesperson Allison Hart condemned Iran following the interception of an Iranian ballistic missile heading toward Turkish airspace.
“We condemn Iran’s targeting of Turkiye. NATO stands firmly with all Allies, including Turkiye, as Iran continues its indiscriminate attacks across the region," Al Arabiya quotes her as saying.
Hart added: "Our deterrence and defence posture remains strong across all domains, including when it comes to air and missile defence."
Earlier today, March 4, Türkiye's Ministry of National Defence announced that a ballistic missile launched from Iran was detected heading toward Turkish airspace. It was successfully intercepted by NATO air and missile defence systems in the eastern Mediterranean.
