NATO to bring more anti-drone systems to Romania, Iohannis says
05 October 2023 20:55
Romania is working with its NATO partners to boost defence on its border with Ukraine at the Danube river following several incidents where Russian drone debris fell on its soil.
“We are working with NATO to bring in additional anti-drone defence in the area,” President Klaus Iohannis told reporters Thursday in Granada, Spain, during a meeting of the European Political Community, Bloomberg reports.
Romania has received “concrete answers” on the issue, not just encouragement, he said.
He reiterated that Romania considers Russian attacks on Ukraine’s Danube ports war crimes because no military capabilities are located in the area.
