NATO to open office in Switzerland with single staff member
29 August 2024 20:37
NATO will open a representation office in Switzerland in September, staffed by just one person.
The office aims to oversee NATO's relationships with international organisations headquartered in Geneva, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that Moscow would adjust its relations with Switzerland in response to its participation in the "Military Schengen" programme. The "Military Schengen" is a common term for the "Military Mobility" initiative launched in 2014, aimed at facilitating the movement of troops within the European Union by removing certain administrative barriers.
