Netanyahu adviser blames Hezbollah for ceasefire violations

In an interview with CNN journalist Jim Sciutto, Ophir Falk, a foreign policy adviser to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, blamed Hezbollah for the renewed escalation in fighting, accusing the group of repeatedly violating the ceasefire.

“Hezbollah is breaching the ceasefire. That’s not surprising, and we’re hitting them back very hard,” Falk said.

Falk described Hezbollah as an Iran-backed organisation and accused it of targeting Israeli civilians, while stating that Israel’s response has focused on striking Hezbollah militants.

“Hezbollah … has taken Lebanon hostage for the past decade or so… and they target civilians and we target Hezbollah terrorists. That’s the main difference between us.”
