Netanyahu: Israel ready for full-scale war if Lebanon ceasefire fails
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has directed the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) to prepare for a "full-scale war" should the ceasefire with Lebanon collapse.
"I have instructed the IDF to be ready for full-scale war in Lebanon if the ceasefire agreement is breached. If the truce is violated, we will escalate to full-scale warfare," Netanyahu stated, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
This announcement follows recent tensions along Israel's northern border, with the ceasefire agreement bringing a temporary halt to hostilities.
Meanwhile, the IDF has eased restrictions on large gatherings, lifting the ban on assemblies of more than 2,000 people in several regions. According to a statement from the IDF's Home Front Command, this decision comes after the implementation of the ceasefire with Lebanon.
The restrictions, which had been in place as a precautionary measure, have been lifted in northern and central areas, including Tel Aviv. The Home Front Command's announcement specified that limitations on gatherings have been removed in areas such as Shfela, Yarkon, Dan, Sharon, Samaria, Menashe, Wadi Ara, HaCarmel, and HaAmakim.
The relaxation of measures signals a cautious optimism as Israel adapts to the ceasefire conditions while maintaining readiness for potential escalations.
