Netanyahu requests enhanced security for son amid Iranian threat concerns
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has requested heightened security measures for his son, Yair Netanyahu, who resides in Miami.
The request is driven by concerns that Yair might be targeted by Iran, Caliber.Az reports referring to Israeli media sources.
The increased security request comes in light of recent reports suggesting that Iran may seek to retaliate against Israelis abroad following the assassination of Palestinian Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on July 31.
Yair Netanyahu has been living in Miami since March 2023.
The request for additional security has been communicated to Israeli intelligence agencies. However, unnamed security officials told the Israeli TV channel that security levels for Israelis abroad are based on threat assessments and situational evaluations.
Currently, there is no concrete evidence indicating a significant threat to Yair Netanyahu, and as a result, the Israeli General Security Service does not plan to enhance his security at this time.
