Netanyahu says Israel building new alliances against Iran
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel is forming “new alliances” with countries in the Middle East to counter Iran, according to Reuters.
“Previously, we fought Iran alone. Today, we are fighting shoulder to shoulder together with the United States… We have not only strengthened our alliance with the US, but we are also creating new alliances with important countries in the region against the Iranian threat,” Netanyahu said.
He did not specify which countries were involved but expressed hope that he would soon be able to “share more about these important alliances.”
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran. Strikes targeted major cities across the country, including Tehran. The attacks resulted in the deaths of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, along with several other senior figures.
In response, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced a large-scale retaliatory operation targeting Israel. US-linked facilities were also struck in Bahrain, Jordan, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Syria.
