Netanyahu says Israel open to peace agreement with Lebanon
11 May 2026 09:38
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel has no conflict with Lebanon and suggested that a peace agreement between the two countries could have been reached “as early as yesterday.”
Speaking in an interview with CBS News, Netanyahu said the main obstacle to peace remains an armed group operating in Lebanon, which he described as a terrorist organisation that has “taken over the country.”
The Israeli leader also said he sees potential for further expanding the normalisation of relations between Israel and Arab states. According to Netanyahu, Israel plans to pursue new diplomatic agreements while strengthening existing partnerships in the region.
