Israeli prime minister vows Iran won’t get nuclear weapons under any deal

Israel will not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons with or without an agreement between Washington and Tehran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at the beginning of the weekly government meeting.

“I greatly appreciate the historic partnership with the United States against Iran’s attempts to acquire nuclear weapons. And I want to emphasize again: With an agreement or without an agreement, as long as I am prime minister, Iran will not have nuclear weapons,” the prime minister stressed.

According to Netanyahu, in recent weeks Iran has been attacking countries in the region and even beyond it, but there is one country it does not attack — Israel. In his view, this is because Tehran “knows what a powerful blow we [Israel] will inflict on it if it does.”
