Netherlands to provide Ukraine with new €400 million military aid package
The Netherlands will supply Ukraine with a new military aid package worth €400 million, aimed at enhancing the country’s maritime security, said acting Defence Minister, Ruben Brekelmans.
According to Brekelmans, the assistance will include over 100 vessels, such as patrol boats, along with drones to support Ukraine’s naval capabilities, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Note that, since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the Netherlands has been a steadfast ally, providing substantial military aid to bolster Ukraine's defence capabilities.
By early 2025, the Dutch government had committed over €10 billion (approximately $10.7 billion) in military support, encompassing direct equipment deliveries, financial contributions to international defence funds, and collaborative initiatives with NATO allies.
In collaboration with Germany, the Netherlands allocated €150 million to support the procurement of long-range air defence systems for Ukraine, aiming to strengthen Ukraine's ability to counter aerial threats.
Moreover, the Netherlands pledged 24 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, along with €350 million for air-to-ground munitions and €80 million for maintenance equipment and spare parts to ensure the operational readiness of these aircraft.
