New checkpoint construction near Ukraine-Poland border under completion
A new checkpoint construction near Ukraine-Poland border is under completion.
Head of Ukraine’s Lviv Regional State Administration Maksym Kozytskyi said that the construction of a new Nyzhankovychi - Malhowice border checkpoint with Poland is under completion in Lviv region, according to RBC Ukraine.
The international automobile border checkpoint Nyzhankovychi - Malhowice will be commissioned in six months.
The construction of the checkpoint was launched in September 2021. Currently, it is in its final stages.
The Lviv Regional State Administration and the Subcarpathian Voivodeship (province) have sent proposals to the ministries of development of both countries for the construction of a railway at the Nyzhankovychi - Malhowice checkpoint. They are currently awaiting a response.
The Lviv Regional State Administration reminded that the tracks on the Sambir - Khyriv and State Border - Staryava - Khyriv - Nyzhankovychi - State Border sections have been completely refurbished for international passenger or freight rail transport. Currently, the launch of four regional international trains, each with a capacity of 206 passengers, is under consideration.
