New Israeli PM calls Iran “most serious threat”
New Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid has said that Israel would do its best to hamper Iran to get nuclear weapons.
“We think that the Iranian threat is the most serious threat for Israel. We will do our best to hamper Iran to get nuclear weapons or approach our borders,” TASS reports referring to Lapid’s statement made during his first public speech after winning the elections on July 2, 2022.
The Israeli prime minister noted that Israel is confident in its own strength and, if necessary, is ready to repulse any enemy.
“I address everyone who wants us [Israel] to collapse, beginning from Gaza and ending with Tehran, beginning from Lebanon and ending with Syria: “don't test us”. Israel knows how to use its power against any threat, enemy,” the Israeli government portal quotes Lapid as saying.
He also confirmed that the Israeli government adheres to such an idea as "Israel as the Nation-State of the Jewish People".
