Next US target: Senator Graham points to Cuba following Iran mission “They’re gonna fall”
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham told Fox News that following the conclusion of operations in Iran, the next focus for the United States could be Cuba.
Graham said Iran’s leadership is in deep crisis after the elimination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and Washington’s attention may shift to Havana. He noted that Cuba remains a key partner of Russia and China in the region and cannot manage without external support.
“Cuba’s next. They’re gonna fall. This communist dictatorship in Cuba? Their days are numbered,” he warned.
The senator also called on the White House to strike Hezbollah in Lebanon to limit Iran’s influence.
At the end of January, President Donald Trump declared a state of emergency over actions by the Cuban government and restricted oil supplies to the island. After Venezuelan energy shipments ceased, Cuba faced severe economic difficulties, with the UN warning of fuel and food shortages.
In Washington, Cuba is viewed as a strategic stronghold for countries opposing the US in the Western Hemisphere. Measures such as the oil embargo and sanctions aim to weaken Russian and Chinese influence near American borders.
Cuban authorities described the situation as an “extreme threat” to national security, while Trump expressed confidence that the Cuban government would not remain in power through 2026.
