Niger's PM says visit of Russian deputy defence chief promotes cooperation

Nigerian Prime Minister Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine has praised the visit of Russian Deputy Defence Minister Yunus-Bek Yevkurov to the republic.

He believes that the visit is part of the process of strengthening cooperation between the two countries, Gazeta.ru reported.

"Niger has been cooperating with Russia for a long time, so the visit of the deputy defence minister helped deepen our partnership," Zein said. He also noted that Niger faced challenges related to terrorism and needed support from friendly countries.
