Nigerian security forces neutralize 25 armed gang members
In a major security operation conducted by Nigerian security forces, 25 armed gang members were neutralized in the Gidan-Goga area of Zamfara State.
The operation targeted criminal groups that have been terrorizing the region, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Abubakar Abdullahi, a representative of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), announced the success of the operation. He confirmed that, in addition to the fatalities, 18 gang members sustained injuries and managed to flee the scene.
The operation also resulted in the rescue of seven hostages who had been held captive by the gang. Abdullahi emphasized that no civilian casualties were reported during the mission.
Despite the official account, local media outlets reported that 16 civilians lost their lives during the operation. These claims have not yet been verified, and authorities have not commented on the allegations.
