North Korea condemns Israel’s Gaza takeover plan, demands withdrawal
The North Korean Foreign Ministry has condemned Israel for its plan to take full control of the Gaza Strip and demanded its withdrawal from the area.
“The Israeli cabinet’s ‘decision’ to fully seize the Palestinian Gaza Strip clearly violates international law and openly reveals a marauding nature manifested in the desire to capture territory of Palestine recognised internationally,” the Ministry said, Caliber.Az reports, citing North Korean media.
Pyongyang called the “unilateral attempts to change the territorial affiliation of the Gaza Strip and its population” unacceptable.
“We strongly demand that Israel immediately cease its unlawful armed aggression against the Palestinians and completely withdraw from the Gaza Strip,” the Ministry declared.
In early August, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel intends to "take control of all of Gaza," with a primary goal of dismantling Hamas's military and governance structures. The plan, endorsed by Israel's security cabinet, includes: disarming Hamas, returning all hostages, demilitarising the Gaza Strip, establishing a non-Hamas civilian administration, and implementing a security perimeter.
Western media outlets say approximately 400,000 Israeli troops are being mobilised for a comprehensive military occupation, with operations expected to last at least six months. The military has already secured about 75% of Gaza, focusing on urban areas like Gaza City and the Mawasi camps. The operation follows the May 2025 offensive, which achieved partial territorial control but did not meet all strategic objectives.
