Munich attack: Gunshots and explosions leave at least one dead updated
New details have emerged about the dramatic incident in Munich in the early morning of October 1, when explosions and gunfire shook the city centre.
According to Bild, investigators believe that a local resident was behind the blasts. He allegedly planted explosives inside his parents’ house, set the property on fire, and then took his own life.
Authorities reported that, in addition to the suspected perpetrator, the body of at least one other individual with gunshot wounds was discovered at the scene. Police have cordoned off the area, and the investigation into the circumstances of the attack is ongoing.

Several explosions shook the northern part of Munich on the morning of October 1, according to reports by the German newspaper Bild.
The incident occurred on Lerchenauer Strasse, prompting a major police response. Authorities quickly cordoned off the area and urged both residents and motorists to avoid the location until further notice.
Eyewitnesses told the publication that they also heard gunfire during the incident. When emergency services arrived, they discovered the body of a man at the scene, while another individual was found with gunshot wounds and received medical treatment.
The precise circumstances remain unclear. However, according to preliminary reports cited by Bild, the case may have stemmed from a domestic dispute.
Police investigations are ongoing as the area remains secured.
