Norway, Germany to jointly fund Patriot air defence systems for Ukraine

Norway and Germany will jointly finance the purchase of two Patriot air defence systems and accompanying ammunition for Ukraine, according to a statement published on the Norwegian government’s website.

The document noted that Berlin and Oslo continue close cooperation on military support for Kyiv, including the supply of “powerful air defence systems,” Caliber.Az reports.

Norway plans to allocate around 7 billion kroner (over $695 million) for the procurement of air defence assets. The equipment will be supplied from Germany.

In addition, Norway is participating in the purchase of air defence radars from German manufacturer Hensoldt, as well as air defence systems produced by Kongsberg.
