Norway pledges €1 billion to support Ukraine
Norway will allocate 1 billion euros to help Ukraine.
According to UNIAN, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made the statement at a joint press conference in Kyiv with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
"We are grateful for the new package of support that Norway decided to provide to Ukraine and Ukrainians totaling 1 billion euros. We appreciate it very much at such a difficult time. We have real friends beside us," Zelenskyy said.
Also, the president of Ukraine noted that Norway is not a member of the European Union, but supported the sanctions regime against Russia imposed for its aggression.
"Sanctions are the price for this tragic bloody war. And today we discussed with Mr. Prime Minister how we can still strengthen this process," Zelenskyy stressed.
The president added that discussions with Norway on security guarantees and sanctions policy will continue today.
