Norway summons Russian envoy over threats to foreign personnel in Ukraine

Norway’s Foreign Ministry has summoned Russia’s ambassador in Oslo for talks to protest against what it described as recent threats issued against foreign personnel in Ukraine.

Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said in a statement that the move was prompted by “stated threats against foreign personnel in Ukraine that Russia has made in recent days”, Caliber.Az reports via Norwegian media.

According to the ministry, the Russian ambassador met with the director-general of the Security Policy Department at the Foreign Ministry.

During the meeting, Norwegian officials also reiterated their condemnation of what they called “Russia’s massive attacks on Kyiv this weekend,” the statement added.
