Number of COVID-19 cases in world exceeds 500 million

The sources in the US Johns Hopkins University have said that 594,184,953 COVID-19 cases were confirmed in the world as of August 19 morning.

Some 6,448,380 people have died globally from the consequences of the disease since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak in December 2019, Caliber.Az reports, citing the data released by the US Johns Hopkins University.

Among the countries with more than 20 million COVID-19 cases are the US, India, Brazil, France, Germany, the UK, Italy and South Korea.

According to the Worldometers website, specializing in statistics on the most important world events, the death rate per one million people in the world as of August 19 morning was 829.6.

Around 374 people died per one million inhabitants in India, 3,162 in Brazil, 2,340 in France, 1,735 in Germany, 2,724 in the UK, 2,894 in Italy, and 504 in South Korea.

There is no data relevant data about the fatality rate in the US.
