Obama ally resigns over ties to Epstein
13 February 2026 10:05
Kathryn Ruemmler, chief legal counsel at one of the world’s largest investment banks, Goldman Sachs, is stepping down following the publication of materials linking her to American financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the Financial Times reports.
In a statement to the publication, Ruemmler said she would leave the bank on June 30. “I made the determination that the media attention on me, relating to my prior work as a defense attorney, was becoming a distraction,” she emphasised.
Ruemmler previously served as legal advisor in the administration of former US President Barack Obama.
