Official: Iran vows to press ahead with nuclear programme despite US strikes
Spokesman for Iran’s Atomic Energy Organisation Behrouz Kamalvandi has stated that it is impossible to completely destroy the Islamic Republic’s nuclear industry, reaffirming commitment to its atomic ambitions.
Despite the recent US airstrikes on its nuclear facilities, the official affirmed that Iran intends to repair the damage caused by the attacks in the shortest possible time.
The US launched airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities on June 22 morning. US President Donald Trump stated that a full payload of bombs was dropped on Fordow, calling it the primary target of the operation. Satellite imagery has since revealed visible damage to the entrances of the Fordow facility and to the mountain under which the site is located.
