Official: Ukraine could become "Europe’s new economic tiger"

European Commissioner for Defence Andrius Kubilius has said that Ukraine could develop into “Europe’s new economic tiger” within the next 20 to 25 years.

Speaking about the country’s long-term prospects, Kubilius said this outcome would depend on accelerating Ukraine’s integration into the European single market and joining the European Defence Union as soon as possible, Ukrainian media reports.

He added that Ukraine’s future success could extend beyond Europe, saying it might “inspire ordinary Russians to demand a return to normal life.”
