Official: Ukraine may convey its peace proposals to Russia via intermediaries
Advisor to the head of the Ukrainian presidential office Mikhail Podolyak has stated that Kyiv might convey Ukrainian peace proposals to Russia via intermediaries.
He noted a precedent with a grain deal but clarified that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is not involved in this mediation, Caliber.Az reports citing the Russian media.
Podolyak stressed that advocating for an immediate ceasefire indicates that the country is not prepared for a mediation initiative.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban traveled to Moscow on July 5 for a working visit, aiming to discuss solutions to the Ukraine conflict with the Russian president. Prior to this, Orban had visited Kyiv, where he presented a peace plan to the Ukrainian president. His proposal included urging Ukraine to cease hostilities and initiate negotiations thereafter.
