Oil spill disrupts UAE resorts, tourists face strong fumes amid cleanup efforts VIDEO

An oil spill has impacted the coastline near several hotels in the United Arab Emirates, raising concerns among tourists and prompting an ongoing cleanup operation.

The spill occurred along the beaches near popular hotels including Novotel Fujairah, Al Bahar Hotel & Resort, and Ibis Fujairah. Russian tourists vacationing in the area reported a strong chemical odor, even from as far as five kilometers inland, Caliber.Az reports via Russian Telegram channel. 

Initial cleanup operations began on April 11, but fresh tar-like residues continue to wash ashore, suggesting that the spill is not yet contained. Authorities have warned that full restoration of the beaches could take several more days.
