Oman’s sultan, Iran’s foreign minister discuss mediation efforts

The Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, has held talks with Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, in Muscat to address the regional situation and ongoing mediation efforts aimed at ending the US-Israel war involving Iran.

“During the audience, consultations were held on the evolving situation in the region, as well as on mediation efforts and diplomatic endeavours aimed at bringing an end to ongoing conflicts,” Oman’s state news agency reported.

Oman has been acting as a mediator in the conflict, hosting talks to reduce tensions while condemning the joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran as illegal and destabilising to the region.
