Oman says no transit fees planned under future Hormuz arrangements
25 June 2026 15:24
Oman's foreign minister said on Thursday (June 25) that no transit fees would be imposed on vessels using the Strait of Hormuz under any future arrangements governing the strategic waterway.
Speaking during a meeting of Gulf foreign ministers in Manama, Bahrain, with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi said that "future arrangements regarding the Strait do not entail the imposition of any transit fees," Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
The remarks came after Oman and Iran, which both border the Strait of Hormuz, had previously indicated they were discussing service-related "costs" linked to the key shipping route.
