One killed, six injured in 4.9-magnitude earthquake in China

A 4.9-magnitude earthquake struck China's southwestern province of Sichuan, killing one person and injuring six others, according to state broadcaster CCTV.

The broadcaster reported that five of the injured sustained minor injuries. No further details on the condition of the sixth injured person were immediately available.

Authorities are assessing the impact of the earthquake, and no additional information on damage or rescue operations has yet been released.
