OSCE secretary general to visit Bishkek, Kyrgyz FM says Photo
OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioglu is planning an official visit to Bishkek, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry announced following a meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister Meder Abakirov and Volker Frobarth, Head of the OSCE Programme Office in the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the ministry’s press service, the talks focused on Kyrgyzstan’s cooperation with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and outlined priority areas for joint work in 2026, Caliber.Az reports per Kyrgyz media.

The sides also discussed the possibility of future visits to Bishkek by the Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) and the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media. The Kyrgyz side expressed its readiness to provide full organisational support for such visits.
In addition, the diplomats exchanged views on regional initiatives related to border cooperation and confidence-building measures in Central Asia.
