OTS health ministers adopt joint declaration to enhance regional healthcare collaboration PHOTO
At the 4th meeting of health ministers from member and observer states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in Shusha, a Joint Declaration was officially adopted, outlining key initiatives for future cooperation in the healthcare sector.
The declaration includes the approval of the 2024 Action Plan by the OTS Working Group on Health Cooperation and establishes a Unified Medical Scientific Space for collaboration among member and observer states, Caliber.Az reports citing the ministry.
It emphasizes the importance of conducting joint scientific research and setting common standards for medical education across the region.
Additionally, the declaration stresses the need for cross-border sharing of medical data related to patient health and the development of Unified Digital Health Standards in accordance with national legislation. It also highlights the significance of the recently signed "Protocol of Intent for the Establishment of the Türktransplant System," along with memoranda of understanding between various higher medical educational institutions and centers within the OTS.
Following this meeting, it was agreed that the next gathering of OTS health ministers will take place in Kazakhstan.
