Over 1,200 children gone missing in Ukraine since start of war
Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, 1,214 children are known to be missing in Ukraine.
Daria Gerasimchuk, adviser to the Ukrainian president's commissioner for children's rights and children's rehabilitation made the due remark at the briefing, according to UNIAN.
"During the war, 1,112 appeals about missing children were received. There are 1,214 of these children," said Gerasimchuk, referring to the data of the Juvenile Prevention Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
She also said that today 90 children remain wanted.
"Unfortunately, among those found children, two children were dead," she noted.
In addition, according to her, 2,389 children were taken to Russia.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the Russian military has killed 226 Ukrainian children. At least 646 children in Ukraine suffered from the actions of the military. These figures are not final, as work continues to establish them in places of active hostilities in the temporarily occupied and already liberated territories.
