Over 1 million people left without power in Kyiv, Chernihiv—official

More than 1.2 million people in Kyiv and Chernihiv remain without electricity, Ukrainian authorities reported.
Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba wrote on Telegram, “In Kyiv, more than 800,000 subscribers are without power. (...) In Chernihiv, more than 400,000 consumers are without electricity.”
Earlier, Maxim Timchenko, Chief Executive of DTEK Group, described the country’s energy situation as catastrophic. According to Timchenko, residents receive electricity for three to four hours, after which power is cut for 10 to 15 hours.
